it seems like she might be in a panic, not over the conflicts of the clinic or fundamental disagreements with management, but apparently by the perceived betrayal of people who she thought she could rely-- on family members most likely-- who are questioning number of aspects revealed in her post
I think my cyber nanny may have been right when she
evaluated our poet as someone who is in desperate need to keep control of
things
and the sense I get from her post recently is that she feels
a certain level of powerlessness
this is especially a true for those who helped send her
there. they read her post from several weeks ago the way I did, as her
rebelling against the food
the poet is forced to
offer to let these people speak directly with her nutritionist in order to undo
the anxiety the essay caused
what appears clear from her attempt to repair the damage is
that they whoever they are or concerned over her eating disorder take on faith her
word that the eating disorder was the root cause of most of her problems. they
clearly had problems with her extreme diet from last summer and are in some
ways helping her currently
her dad was giving her money while she was at our office and
no doubt continued to support her when she moved on to her job in the Virgin
mayors town, putting into doubt her claims to our office gossip that she had
received a financial boon as a result of the change of jobs.
her continued dependency on her family also contributes to
her current situation while she claims she needs to leave the clinic before her
insurance runs out, some of the cost of support must be on their backs as well
as the cost of aftercare she already said she doesn't want to burden them with by staying past March 31st
it is yet unclear if
her last day is this Friday or next Monday
she clearly will not be there on April 1st
if reports are true
then she has lost her job and will need them to help her until she can find a
new gig
since she claims all her problems stem from eating disorder
then she has to convince them that she has made an honest effort in seeking the
latest cure
but her blog clearly
raises doubts about how sincere she actually is and shows that she is mostly
going through the motion of doing what is expected of her until she can regain
her balance
