that well-meaning man,
deaf, dumb and blind to her motives,
he can accept who she is,
if only for the moment
which as she points out,
all there ever is,
willing to suspend his disbelief
long enough to get unbelievable joy,
only I'm not made the way he is,
paying too much attention
to what I believe goes on,
and not accepting the god-sent
of what is really happening.

If only I was him,
accepting when it all
comes together,
not regretting when it all comes apart,
that natural progression life
makes us endure,
if I was him,
I could close my eyes,
feel her presence,
accept her presents,
and be grateful for
having something I never had before,
and never have again.
If I was him, I'd be eternally grateful.
