The endless cycle June 18, 2012

 We can’t defy gravity

Or time,

One keeps us down

To earth

The other wears us out,

The perpetual cycle

Of rising and falling,

We thought of

As progress

When we were

Young.

We never come back

To the same place

We started,

We just think it is,

Like a decaying orbit,

We falling a few degrees

Lower with each cycle,

Gravity brings us

Down

So, we are lucky

If we survive the crash,

Landing softly

If we are lucky,

Life letting us

Get up again

Letting us walk

Where once we flew

Earth under our feet

Instead of air

Under our wings
