jeans on the lower shelf
and avoid needing the larger size above
this perception of how she needs to look
size and shape
doing all she can to
keep from
losing that vision
she has of herself
as if it really
matters to anyone
who really loves her
yes she fits well
into that black gown
she wears when she sings
so tight it accounts for er nearly perfect shape
only this is not all of what others see
when we look at her
those who get a peek behind the curtain
she has pulled up to
keep her real self disguised
if we close our eyes
we still see the real
her
or a glimpse maybe
the tender soul
who professes to be
tough
scared to death of how others
might see her as something other
than what she wants
us to see
posting photos continuously
to remind us of who we ought to see
when we see her
when we would love her anyway
