her post yesterday brought the whole story home to our
office, although it is unclear just who she sees as the villain and what she
was trying to say except to claim she has finally won
this may be a
response to my posting a story called “rainy day”
in her part, she said she had a dream in which he ran
through our office building carrying a just completed article and was greeted
by people asking what are you doing back.
she said she told them she had a deadline and then realized
she made a wrong turn, corrected this and ran up the stairs then up a rope
ladder to a rope bridge that led to the boss's office on the way up people there
kept telling her how it sucks to work here
she responded oh yeah
“While I haven't worked here for 2 years and it still sucks,”
she said. “I win.”
the others nodded in agreement as they watched her scurry
over the rope bridge ,her article clutched and wrinkling as she wondered if
they'd accept it wrinkled
she also thought to herself she shouldn't be going to these things
for a job she doesn't even have anymore she's letting herself be taken
advantage of again but she has to do this she told herself
then as she imagined it would, the bridge started slowly
giving out, one of the supporter robes began to slide out and the bridge turned
sideways and she grabbed onto the stable ropes with her legs.
she said she watched the supporting rope disappear through a
hole and she grabbed the tail end of it just before she plunged three stories
down. she didn't grab the whole thing only a few frayed strands of it as people
gasped and anticipation of her fall, calling her, to tell her how brave she was
and she says she can't do it
She struggled to keep hold of the stable piece of rope, her muscles
burning as she clumsily tied the strands back to a loose rope and missing the
knot, tying too slowly in her mind. she felt she wasn't going to make it
but it last minute she tied them together and just as she
was pulling herself back to the bridge she woke up.
it was an interesting
and telling dream. Usually in these sort of panic “I'm in danger” dreams which
she has quite often, she can't get the rope together,r she can't save herself
she keeps digging herself deeper into danger
and she noted she usually didn't have the cheering section
or self-awareness in other dreams that she had this one
she woke up full of self-doubt which faded as she grew more
awake. she had saved herself; people rooting for; she had made progress this
gave her hope
she said today was a hard day for her. it is an ugly anniversary but she is in good
hands and had a very prominent cheering section. she has to tie the threads of
rope together for herself but she is strong enough now
it is difficult for my point of view to tell whether this
was a real dream or something she made up
but I suspect it was real and it reveals to details of what
happened at her office and shows she still resolved all the issues here.
it may even be a response to the song
I am assuming and since each piece in the dream has some
intended symbolic meaning but disguised for her current leadership so us to not
give too much away
The poems covers some of the same ground her poem “trickle
up” does and since she yanked that down there is no ways to know just how conscious all
of its.
what she does it
really is
it stands a reason
she does not want to reveal too much and yet still managed to convey the
message that she's back on track to gaining a Fame and Glory she has waited all her life for
perhaps she is using the piece to intentionally post about
how she manages to survive despite her worst intentions
I have to believe I
am the wrong turn she took at our office
this concept of return to our office has always been a fear
in the back of my mind since she retained ties to the owner or former temporary
boss are gossip and perhaps others
her climb to the top came as a correction when she realized
that I was not part of the power grid at the office and this led to a rope
ladder and a rope bridge to our owner's office
people like our former temporary boss and office gossip kept
telling her how much it sucked to work at the office and the fact she hasn't
worked there in 2 years and still sucks means she won
whether this is
because she's moved on or had better relationship over a shaky bridge clutching
her story and wondering if wrinkled story is acceptable
at this point the essay takes an interesting turn, pondering
why she had to go so far for a job she no longer has, letting herself be taken
advantage of again and yet she felt compelled to continue on nonetheless
I'm not sure exactly what she means by this passage but it
could refer to her continued sexual relationship with the owner that she needs
not to continue since she no longer has a job yet kept up just the same
then the bridge gave out just as she imagined it would one
of the supporting ropes began to slide out and she went sideways and grabbed
onto the stable rope with her legs and extremely sexual image suggesting she
kept hold of the remaining stable figure through sex even as this began to slip
too into its hole and she clutch the end and a few fragile strains and audience
gasping that she is near disaster, admiring her bravery as she resists the
three-story plunge down from our owners office (which is on the third floor of
our building)
somehow she managed to put the rope back together as she
woke up.
If only Dr. Thomas was available, he might advise me on the
deeper meanings.
