The more I read the poem from yesterday, the more convinced I am that her current situation, her scrambling to survive, is still about the failed love affair, and not something more politically nefarious.
She is bemoaning the fact that she’s been through this
before, but is no longer as weak as she had been in the past, a real survivor.
This only raises the question about her poem previous to
that, about her temptation, and some potential avenue out of the disaster that
she could take, but which comes with some caveats, some moral implications that
makes her seem reluctant to go down that path.
You have to wonder after years of trickling up what she found
so repugnant as to give he pause.
It appears she ultimately rejected whatever it was that
tempted her.
This latest poem, however, suggests that the impact of her
failed relationship may be more widespread that merely heart break, and again,
hints that the relationship she’s been struggling with since the beginning of
the year is somehow tied to her job.
Historically, this has largely been true in other jobs and
other relationships, so that when love expires so does her career.
This may not have been the case with our office, but perhaps
only because her career got terminated before the heart break.
I do not count what we engaged in as part of this, since I
was not head honcho, the way some of her former lovers were in their jobs, and
so our conflict did not adversely affect her job (even if she believes this to
be the case).
If this relationship she’s had since January is with one of
her bosses (the virgin mayor, the PR guy, Mr. C, or even Joey D) it’s expiration
means an end to her job as well, and we should soon expect her to move on to something
else – although not without a significant time period of near despair.
I’ve only glanced at the last of these four poems, so I don’t
know yet if it will support my theory. None the less, she is in crisis, and in
pain, and this comes after a year of medical miracles.
Maybe she’ll need to keep on looking for miracles, only I
suspect, she may have run out f them, at least, for the moment.
