Rising from the ashes again Nov. 1, 2012

 Better men than I

Have said

The sun also rises,

Full of fire and fury,

Despite the dark spirits

That haunt the night

Those ill apparitions

That taunt us

With fear and force

And you,

Wake before the sun rises,

And you,

And if not Like a phoenix

That rises from

Its own ashes,

Then from the grave-like

Thoughts that plague us

When we are most vulnerable.

Sun light bring back

Our ability to cope

With the guilt

That rides our backs,

Her rebirth desperately needed,

While the mob of lesser beings

Clings to her with greasy fingers

Seeking to hold her back

From what she believes

She deserves,

While we wish we could reside

Where she resides,

Could share her attention

We in no way deserve,

Watching her rise

Like the sun rises,

Blinding and powerful,

A force we fear

With grow more potent

After she must turn to ash

Before she can rise again

A blazing flame
