So, the pieces may finally come together as to why RR can be supposedly on the Neighboring Mayor’s side and yet have her doing her best in our office over the last year and a half to try and destroy him, and on the side, also try to destroy the Congressman
RR, who has been fighting to get his badge back since he gave it up in the late 1990s, wanted to run on the Neighboring Mayor’s countywide ticket as sheriff – and apparently, the Neighboring Mayor has decided to go with a former Jersey City cop instead.
Some believe, she became RR’s agent early on either just before or just after she got a job at our office, and has conducted a number of operations for him, accepting affection in exchange.
RR apparently has served as the Neighboring Mayor’s private investigator briefly. although from what the Congressman’s PR says, they have used others from outside the County for their dirty work, following people in order to get dirt on them.
In some ways, RR and the State Senator’s Private Eye are spies on either side of the political line.
The Congressman’s PR person suggests that she may also hate the Neighboring Mayor because she hasn’t been able to get to him, part of RR’s strategy for getting ahead.
She, according to this account, found the Virgin Mayor much easier to manipulate.
“He’s always hitting on me,” she told me once, recalling their first meeting at the International House of Pancakes.
According to this account, she kept tabs on The Virgin Mayor for RR with the hopes that the Virgin Mayor as the rebel might be able to get RR his job back on the police department. But the Virgin Mayor was too close to the Congressman and The Small Man, whom RR blames for keeping him off the force.
Several things changed over the year. RR lost his appeal in February, and thus began to actively work against the Congressman again, using possibly to compromise people – including some in our office, so that when RR was ready, she could run a story against the Congressman.
Still RR apparently wanted to run for sheriff and still possibly believes he will get an undersheriff job out of all this.
But meanwhile, he has sent her out to garner anti-Congressman, anti-Small Man forces, in the aim of trying to find out about the car accident the Small Man got into about a year and a half ago. She called the Congressman’s assistant Richard out of the blue early in January – but the boy didn’t want to take the phone call and the Congressman’s PR person answered instead, telling her to never to call again.
My Mob Man from Secaucus said the old story about the Small Man surfaced again in late December, so she and RR are likely trying to find out if there is any truth that the Small Man was turning out of a hotel onto the 495 viaduct with a young, male – the Congressman’s aide -- in his car when the accident occurred.
The Mob Man claims that the boy quit the Congressman’s office recently and was willing to testify against the Small Man, because there were supposedly two accident reports, one saying the truth and the other showing a different location.
The Small Man did have the accident. And he did go to the hospital.
But he told me he was not coming from a hotel, and the aide he had was J, a political operative (and one of my primary sources, and they had just dropped off the Congressman after apparently coming from a meeting or a wake.
All these dirty tricks by RR seem desperate, since no one will have him except for the Neighboring Mayor, who may be willing to use some of these dirty tricks she and RR devise because the Neighboring Mayor is angry at the Small Man at the moment.
