Just when you think nothing can change, it all changes, not always for the better, but most often not, like a bad penny that keeps jamming up the coin machine, causing the mechanism to go haywire, when all you want is the receipt you can buy groceries with. It keeps coming back, an unexpected (though you should have expected it) turn of events that spoils whatever plans you planned to live out the rest of your life with, the penny always gums up the works, and you just don’t know how to get rid of it, convinced you can’t, it being an aspect of the universe designed to always throw a curve ball when you’re in the batter’s box waiting for something straight forward. You always swing too late, always looks foolish to thinking you won’t strike out.
