Getting to third base

Hank always wanted
To hit a home run
Each time he went
Up into the balcony
With a girl,
A boy so pathetic
In or out of his
Usher uniform
Girls felt sorry for him
And did,
Me, I never was so ambitious,
Always getting to first
Where I stole second,
And despite the slaps
Sometimes managed
To get down into third,
Both hands extended
To get as deep as possible,
Later long after
The moment has passed
Tasting the victory
On the tips of my fingers
And like all good players
Loving the game
Regardless of the score
