As the song goes, “nothing lasts forever except for the earth and sky,” a sad refrain for those who get in on a good thing early, knowing if they don’t grab as much as they can, it will vanish over time.
Like an over-inflated party balloon, rising for a time, only
to come down again, age withering it.
If you don’t take it early, you may never get it, regretting
it later when the party’s over and you did not get a prize.
More foolish, perhaps, are those who don’t when to quit, to
leave before all the balloons deflate.
