Roll of the dice Nov 11, 2024
I want it all to add up to something, only it
never does, the mathematics of living, where two plus two doesn't always come
up with four, the unpredictable appetites of living life, meaning we must
accept what does not add up, life being mostly a subtraction of years, as we
desperately attempt to fill up the remainder with something that means
something to us, an impractical mathematics that would drive Galileo nuts, but
not Einstein, this madness of repetition, this roll of the dice, by which we
calculate the outcome of our lives, always dissatisfied with the outcome, at best appeased by a temporary reprieve
